There are various sources of supply of high quality aviation fuel available for the airport.

The prime source of supply is from refineries in China, Singapore and neighbouring countries. This source of supply is seen as a no-risk factor, given the ready availability of alternative sources of supply nearby, in particular from Korea, Japan and Thailand.

The bulk of the fuel is barged from major oil terminals owned by other AFSC shareholders located on Tsing Yi Island, situated only miles from Chek Lap Kok and Sha Chau Jetty. The Airport is also supplied directly by different refineries in mainland China which are owned and operated by some AFSC shareholders.

At the airport the fuel is stored, maintained and tested in accordance with stringent international guidelines.
